Why can’t I just use Zoom?
Zoom records over the internet, meaning you get a low-quality, compressed sound. Welder records your file locally and uploads to the cloud giving you separate high-quality audio and video files.
What if I lose internet connection?
You don’t need to worry about losing your connection, as Welder will automatically resume your upload when your connection is fixed. We also record an MP3 backup for you.
Do I need to wear headphones for my podcast recording?
Wearing headphones when recording your podcast will allow you to get the raw recording, without Welder having to do echo cancellation, which may result in a more compressed sound.
What podcast equipment do I need?
You can start off using your computer microphone and camera, but we’d recommend upgrading to a USB podcast microphone, such as the Audio Technica ATR-2100x. Send us a message if you’d like some more recommendations!
